PHIT America is pleased to announce Whitney Self, one of the newest member of PHIT America's Champion Advisory Team, joining distinguished PE teachers across the nation.
Whitney Self is a physical education teacher at Camino Real Elementary in Niederwald, TX. She has been teaching for 24 years including 12 years as a middle school PE/health teacher and coach, two years at the district level and currently starting her 12th year in elementary PE.
Whitney was born in Lubbock, TX, grew up in San Antonio, TX and is currently residing in Austin, TX. Whitney loves to travel. You will most likely find her at a beach destination hunting for sea glass. She has traveled to New Zealand to watch the USWNT compete in the World Cup. She also enjoys playing pickleball, working out, attending Broadway shows and going to Austin FC games.
Whitney is the district elementary team lead and the district's Fitnessgram coordinator. Last year she served as the Area 3 chair for TAHPERD and serves on several committees. She is passionate about her students getting the physical activity they deserve and becoming an AMPED Ambassador and part of the PHIT America Advisory Team.
