In recent research exposed by Allina Health, you don’t have to become an elite athlete to improve your longevity. Regular, moderate activities, such as brisk walking, have been associated with increasing life expectancy by several years. For example, 150 minutes of exercise or more each week increased life expectancy by about 7 years over those who didn’t do regular moderate exercise. This benefit was seen regardless of weight, age, sex and health conditions.
There is another study that shows that 70 year olds who exercise regularly have heart and lung capacity and muscle strength of those 30 years younger!
Do you want happiness? A recent pole of 2000 Americans by OXIGEN showed that 75% of those who exercise regularly are happy...vs. only 25% who don't. If that doesn't convince you, 76% of those who exercise regularly feel they 'are successful' versus 24% who don't exercise on a regular basis.
These are just a few of the reasons Physical Activity Is the Miracle Drug.
